you'll learn how to bend when the wind blows

Well, well well, I've been gone away from blogging enough to have missed the launch of the new blogspot design.
I curse you new design.
Like an old grumpy lady, I really don't see the point of pages always tweaking their design.
In other news, things have changed. I have been to Marseille, I am still owing the Paris streetstyle pictures. But right now I am busy. I am moving flats, because my old flatmates are right morons.
And I got a tattoo.

Pictureflood:

Obviously, it is a bit hard to show my tattoo without boob flash.

Love me to pieces.

Very much like Bob Dylan  I've been to the mountain and I've been in the wind
Or at least that's how I pretty much felt like the last couple of weeks.
I've been from FFO to Berlin to Paris to Berlin to FFO back and now I am in N.
I've been on the Eiffeltower, on and in the Arc de triomphe, I've been in second hand shops, in hippie shops, in French designer shops and in extent at Orly Airport. I've been to Disneyland, I've been to my parents' home and so much more.
Most importantly I am back to the blog and will post a review and outfit pictures and touristy stuff of Paris.

Let's start with Paris, because honestly? It's always Paris first right?
Take a look at the pictures after the cut ;-)

In diesem Sinne:

I know I've been a bad girl ;-)

Everyday's luxury.

It took me to becoming 23 actually to actively think of my lips when applying make-up.
People like to think that I am very nit picky about my looks but actually I am not.
Most days are spent without any make-up sitting at home, wearing my pjs and watching K-Dramas or studying.
When I do my make-up for the daily use it has to be fast, easy and fun.
So now, at the age of 23, I somehow accumulated these beautiful lipsticks, whitout which I wouldn't want to leave the house.
Now these are lipsticks I'd say fit for everyday's use and I am fully aware that these are on the upper price range, but they also give me that daily luxury I think I deserve.
When picking your perfect lipstick make sure, you do that in good lightnening, ideally after you've done some research either about the lipstick or at least the brand.
Maybe start with the more affordable brands in drugstores until you figured out what exactly you want.
It took me the one and other cheap drugstore lipstick to realize that I wanted a good, long lasting, yet moisturizing lipstick that gave me that certain feel when I apply it, so I'd apply it at all, haha.
With that let's start my little review (I didn't do total swatches because I'm sure you'll find much better swatches in better lightening on other blogs)

From left to right:

  • Yves Saint Laurent (Rouge pur Couture #06) about 28,50€
  • Mac Cremesheen (Ravishing) about 13€
  • Chanel Rouge Coco (Légende) bought at Duty Free so mere 24€
  • Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (La Somptueuse) Duty free as well 25,50€

So the YSL is a perfect nude lipstick that is very moisturizing. I used to wear it on events with black dramatic eyes and a peachy sort of rouge. As with all creamy lipsticks it doesn't stay on forever, but that might be my habit of biting my lips. (bad habit I know.) For those of you still going to school and prefering a very simple make-up look I would definitely recommend it. And to bring out that young everyday feeling the perfume is very flowery, sweet and innocent.

Mac's Ravishing is everything it is. Ravishing. It is a very peachy, coral sweet colour and goes great with a brown-ish earthy sort of eye make-up and coral rouge. I always had a hard time finding such a lipstick that didn't end up being just orange. This one is bubbly and will make you look refreshed, like you just came back from surfing, the sun still glistening on your arms.
However I find it a bit dry-ing and cannot apply it without my Bobbi Brown lip balm underneath, that I have to wait for to set in or else it'll come off all shiny and slippery. Also the smell is very caky? But I guess for that price and colour you can make compromises.

Chanel. Ah Chanel, I know, me reviewing Chanel might come off a little biased and I am fully aware that I am much more forgiving on Chanel when the product has its little flaws and mistakes here and there but doesn't change the fact that those lipsticks look great on me right?
Légende isn't as pink and glittery on your lips as it might look on that picture. Actually it looks a lot like my natural lip colour, with a hint of dark rose pink. It is a very delicate colour, that yet still looks natural on the face. And as delicate as the colour, is the smell. A bit powdery, a bit nostalgic and very fragile. Like those ballerinas in musical boxes. It looks better with slightly tanned skin in my opinion though, as it can easily look a bit too straining on paler skin.
La Somptueuse is often described as the more glamouros one of the Velvet collection and I'd have to disagree. Maybe it is because I am tanned, have black eyes and hair and wear it with black fluid eyeliner, but to me it is actually the most natural yet rich and sensual red lipstick I have ever seen.
I normally pass on on red lipstick in daylight, but with this I actually do not feel like I wanted to make some extra money. It is very matte (which I love!), fades out evenly and depending on how you apply it, can look more or less dramatic. I say dramatic, because if applied heavily you look, well French, as in the old black and white movies. Dramatic, sensual but in a toned down understated way.
The only thing I was a bit disappointed in, was the dull non distinguishable smell. With a lipstick of that class it should smell that way, too.

Modezirkus

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012.
